About
About AnnuityJournal.org
AnnuityJournal.org is an independent financial media publication focused on helping Americans make informed decisions about annuities and retirement income. We cover fixed annuities, MYGAs, fixed index annuities, income riders, carrier ratings, and the broader retirement income landscape — without selling anything.
We’re not affiliated with any insurance carrier or financial institution. We don’t earn commissions. Our goal is simple: give retirement savers and their advisors the clearest, most useful information available so they can evaluate products on their own terms.
Our Team
Reid Caudill
Co-Founder & Publisher
Reid has spent the better part of two decades in the financial services industry, with a focus on fixed insurance products and retirement income planning. He started AnnuityJournal.org after years of watching consumers struggle to get straightforward information about annuities — products that are genuinely useful but notoriously difficult to compare. His work on this site is aimed at closing that gap.
Elizabeth Prescott
Senior Annuity Analyst & Contributing Editor
Elizabeth is a senior analyst and contributing editor at AnnuityJournal.org, where she covers fixed index annuities, income riders, MYGA rates, and carrier analysis. She brings a research-first approach to every topic, translating complex product structures into plain language that actually helps readers make decisions. Elizabeth authors the majority of the educational content across the site.

Editorial Standards
Every article on AnnuityJournal.org is written to be accurate, current, and free of carrier influence. We cite primary sources — AM Best ratings, SEC filings, state insurance department data, and carrier contracts — and we update content when rates, rules, or products change.
We do not accept payment from carriers to feature or favorably review their products. When we earn compensation through partner links, it is disclosed clearly and does not influence our editorial coverage. See our full Editorial Policy for details.
